Ball you might begin by asking for a little more honesty from the scientific community. Many of us out here have lived long enough to have seen a good number of Psuedo Science studies missused. Let's start with the Spotted Owl lie that effectively killed our timber industry nation wide. Then there were the infamouse studies claiming Yellowstone was more poluted in the winter, (via snowmobiles), than the San Deago freeway. The biggest one of all is the methel mercury studies that uses nicotine poisoning and fetal alcohol syndrome to back low dosage affects of methel mecury as a producer of nuerologic disorders. After all this extremely bad science, (and I use that word loosely), it is really hard to get the public to back the science here. Worse than that you are asking us to allow our present corrupt self serving government to become pro active, (in their benifactors best interests of course), at setting new standards and goals. That is the wrong TOP DOWN elitist led answer. This effort needs to work from the bottom up as a people based and led movement.
