THANK YOU FOR A GREAT FIRST YEAR.

In the spirit of this holiday season, we wanted to take a moment out of the hustle and bustle to say a special word of thanks to all of you who have made our work this past year possible.  Because of your support, in our first year, the American Values Network launched the largest paid media campaign ever by the progressive faith community toward passing climate legislation.  The Wall Street Journal credits this campaign with playing a key role in passing the American Clean Energy and Security Act through the House, and now the Senate is working on its version of the bill.  For the healthcare debate, we produced our first-ever television ad that got the attention of the White House, and numerous diverse media outlets including Christianity Today, Huffington Post, Politics Daily, and the Christian Broadcasting Network.  And because of our work on behalf of American citizens on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico, we got a feature in TIME and the NYT, and CNN is preparing to do a major prime-time expose on the current medical crisis in Vieques resulting from over six decades of weapons testing by the Navy.

This time of year serves as a reminder for why issues such as these are so important – because they touch lives of the least and last, the humble, meek, and lowly.  Thank you for making this year, OUR FIRST, so amazing!  None of our work would have been possible without your support.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
